Portfolio Project Final

As referenced in my sketches, as a subject for this module, I have decided to work a portfolio of the work created in this class along with some additions of images which are my favorites. The intent was to keep it simplistic, since most of what I viewed from this assignments and real artist, they would allow their art and designs to speak for themselves.

 

 

 

 

Module 6 Portfolio Project

For this last project I have decided to showcase all of the work I have performed this semester for this class. I will be creating a portfolio in a webpage desire. My intent is to get the navigation and the tools in alignment with the design of the pages. Attached below you will find several pages which I have sketched for the design. To keep it interesting I will be adding an addition page in which I will share some of my favorite images. I know some of the sketches may seem redundant, however it will keep me in order as I go through the design process.  Looking forward to your comments.

Avatar Final

Below you will find my final Avatar submission for this module. I used a photo of my son for this project. I was having a little difficulty with the resolution of the image, so he volunteered to have me take another photo. I placed him in a desert background with a full moon to give the image a bit more of a mystical look. I hope you enjoy it!

High resolution photo of my son Chris, and yes he has my hair line! His hair line made it a bit easier, but when I got to the beard and the mustache, this required a bit more work.

For this project I will be turning a picture of my Son into an Avatar. I'm going for a fierce look on a tree lined desert background. Below you will find a sketch of what I will attempt to create.

Neil Young From Folk to Grunge

Below you will find the final version of my book cover project. I have used images from both Pixabay and Wikipedia. You will find samples if the images below as well. The idea of the Rainbow was used to indicate the music of Neil Young and the contribution he has made to Folk, Rock and being the "Godfather" of Grunge. It only seemed suitable to have the music transcend into the heavens. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Book Cover Design Sketches

For this Module the subject of my book cover is going to be Neil Young. He was is a great musician and known for playing everything from folk, rock to grunge. Yes I said grunge, he is actually known as the "God Father of Grunge". Most everyone loves his music, so I thought he would be a great subject for this project. Below you will find my sketches.

 

 

Below you will find my poster for the subject of water conservation. In addition I'm posting the images which were used to produce the poster. The text was obviously inserted in Photoshop. I had to work with the warp option for a while to give some effect of movement. The drain was placed in the background, and then I adjusted the Opacity to give the illusion of the drain being part of the pool of water. I then used the healing tool to adjust and blend the two images. I ha da bit of difficulty with the resizing the image to 11x17 as indicated for this assignment, however overall I think I worked it out.  I purposely kept it simplicity to make the point. From those posters which I have viewed during our assignment, it was apparent the simplistic posters made big impacts.  I hope you like it!

Module 3 Poster Sketches

Recently in the news there have been reports of some people in Michigan being without clean water for drinking and bathing. It struck cord with me on how fragile our eco system is and how many of us take our water for granted. Water is a necessity and a requirement for us to survive. As I looked further at the issue it was apparent to me the issue of water conservation is not just for those in Michigan experiencing this travesty, but for all people in the world. The concept I'm using for this project is to make everyone aware of the need to conserve water and not allowing our futures and the futures of our children to circle the drain. I believe there is a need for us all to be mindful of the need to conserve water, since many of us do not consider the consequences of not having any.

I started my project with a list of the images and text I wanted to use. I then conceptualized the image with the sketches. After reviewing the sketches I started to search for images which matched my minds eye and the sketches,

  The poster is meant to be simplistic , but at the same time deliver a powerful message of water conservation. I hope you enjoy my sketches and the concept!

My finished product. I took the advise of adding shadows. I found this a little more difficult then I first imagined. I also added some warping effects to the text. Below you will find my sketch and copies of the photo original photo and images which I used.  I hope I did the Alien and his friends justice! As for the cow what can I say, he is about to be lunch.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For my first photomontage, I decided to use a similar photo for the creation of this blog. I hope everyone who views it, understands the humor. Below the photomontage I have also posted the original photo to compare. Enjoy!
